An Office Max Manager was arrested on July 8th after he allegedly stole $17,000 from the store in Elmont .
In his managerial position at the Elmont location, 36 year old Marc R. Galdass of Woodside was given the daily task of making bank deposits for the store to Brinks Armored Carrier, a Nassau County police said.
It was discovered by a loss prevention manager in April that Galdass had failed to deposit the cash bags to the armored carriers car service on multiple occasions.
In attempts to cover the thefts, the Woodside resident started making unathorized deposits to bank branches, police said.
His actions resulted in the store losing over $17,000 and him being charged with third degree grand larceny,two counts of first degree falsifying business record and fourth degree criminal possession of stolen property and three counts of third degree criminal possession of stolen property, according to Huntington Patch.
Galdass surrended to the police officers this past Friday July 8th and was arraigned.
