A Pennsylvania College Student  was arrested and charged with attempted murder after he he had  allegedly poured bleach in his pregnant girlfriend’s water in an attempt to kill the growing fetus.

20 year old Theophilous Washington, of Washington D.C, had been spending the night with his girlfriend, till the early hours of Friday morning, when he had  told her to drink some water that was stored away in his refrigerator . She did just that and left.

She had started feeling a burning sensation in her throat when she had arrived to her dorm room, and shortly after had vomited.

Fearing that something was wrong, she dialed 911. She was treated by a doctor, who concluded that neither her  nor her fetus was harmed, the NY Daily News reported.

Her boyfriend, a junior at  Millersville University ,  had admitted to putting bleach in a water bottle in an interview with the police , because he did not want her to have the baby.

“He was arrested and  charged in Lancaster County with criminal attempt to commit first-degree murder of an unborn child as well as reckless endangering, ” via the NY Daily News.

According to the same source, Brian Hazlett, Millersville’s Vice President of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management, called it “a horrible, unconscionable event.”

“It is very disturbing to me personally because I consider our students to be our family,” Hazlett said in a statement. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the victim and we’re doing everything we can to make sure she is OK.”
