A Long Island teen is deemed a hero after saving her grandmother’s life.

17 year old Zahrah Ibraham, of Nassau County, was serving as the scorekeeper at her sister’s basketball game at Calhoun High School when out of the blue, she heard her mother wailing. When she turned to see what was wrong, she caught the sight of her 78 year old grandmother looking very pale and slumped over.

Thinking quick to her feet, she ran over and performed CPR on her when she felt that her grandma still had a pulse.

Within minutes, her grandmother started breathing again.

Ibraham stated that she learned how perform CPR in a special program that her school district had offered when she was in the eighth grade.
